ABOUT US

Howard memorial School (HMS) was started back in 1963 as a primary school by an English lady Miss R.E. Gess, who came from far away Manchester in the United Kingdom to impart education to the children of the locality in the around Nager Bazar in North Kolkata. From then the school was running successfully as a primary school, with the effort of our founder Principal Miss Gess and other dedicated teachers.
After the sad demise of Miss Gess in 1997, the school formed a society viz. HMESDD and the school is running successfully. The school is well known and has good reputation as an English Medium School of North Kolkata. The school has its main branch at Kashipur and it is affiliated to the Council of Indian School Certificate Examination (ICSE), New Delhi. Apart from academics the school gives a lot of stress on co-curricular activities viz. Music, Art & Craft, Dance, Sports, Yoga and other activites.
